आमची गोष्ट · our story

Born in a family kitchen in Sangli

THE2WINS wasn't started by a food company. It was started by Ashwini Khochare — alongside her husband, Captain Mahesh Khochare (Retd.) — and she runs it with her twin sister, Avanti Raut, as the family-facing side of a promise to the farmers of their home soil.

Harvest in the Kolhapur–Sangli belt — the season the whole village works.
  1. Fresh turmeric rhizome, cut slices, dried fingers and ground powder together on white

    Born in a family kitchen

THE2WINS was started by Ashwini Khochare, in the family kitchen in Sangli — she built the brand; her husband leads the farmer-facing work. It began the way the best food businesses do: with staples the family already trusted enough to eat every day.

  2. A visiting group across a harvested turmeric field, one of them holding up a freshly lifted clump

    A name with two meanings

Look at our badge: two figures, grown from turmeric roots. It stands for the philosophy of two wins on every order — pure, healthy food for the family that eats it, and a fair, dignified livelihood for the farmer who grows it.

  3. The twin sisters, Ashwini and Avanti, side by side outdoors, an arm around each other

    Two sisters, one vision

They are the twin sisters, Ashwini Khochare and Avanti Raut — the personal half of our name. On the badge, they are not just a symbol; they run the business. With one shared vision between them, they bring authentic, natural goodness from family farms in western Maharashtra to homes around the world. Everything is grown on those farms with organic fertilisers and traditional care, and followed from soil to shelf — so what reaches you is pure, nutritious, and honestly made.

  4. Captain Mahesh Khochare (Retd.) in Navy dress whites, the Naval ensign and the tricolour behind him

    Twenty-five years in uniform

Captain Mahesh Khochare served twenty-five years in the Indian Navy. When he retired, he did not settle in a city — he came home to the black-soil belt where his family has always farmed, with one question: why do the farmers who feed everyone earn the least?

  5. Rows of mature turmeric either side of a furrow in the Sangli belt, a line of palms on the horizon

    Sugarcane out, turmeric in

The Kolhapur–Sangli belt is sugarcane country, but its fertile, well-drained black soil is even better suited to turmeric and ginger — crops that pay the farmer more per acre. Leading by example, the Captain converted the family's own sugarcane fields into turmeric fields first. Proof, then persuasion.

  6. Two men examining a single turmeric rhizome by hand in a harvest field, the crop mounded behind them

Judged by hand, root by root

Nothing is bought on paper alone. Every lot is inspected in the field the day it comes up — a rhizome snapped open, the colour and the core read by hand — and graded again before it is sacked. It is slow, and it is the only way to know that what was promised is what ships.

  7. The procurement lead inside a truck loaded with filled sacks, collected from the field

From their farm to your home

Through VAshwini Enterprises (founded September 2023, mission: FAIR VALUE TO FARMERS FOR THEIR PRODUCE), the family buys directly from farmers at fair prices and collects produce straight from the field — reaching as far as the Lakadong hills of Meghalaya. THE2WINS is how that harvest arrives in your kitchen: nothing added, nothing hidden.

THE2WINS badge — two figures grown from turmeric roots

The two figures on our badge are Ashwini and Avanti, the twin sisters who run THE2WINS — grown from turmeric roots, with a new leaf between them. नावात जुळे, प्रत्येक बरणीत दोन विजय.

दोन विजय · the model

Why "two wins" is the whole business plan

Most supply chains make someone lose — usually the farmer, sometimes the customer. Ours is built so both sides win on every single order, and we're specific about what each win means:

Win one · the farm

A fair, direct price at the farm gate, collection straight from the field after harvest, and a push toward higher-earning crops on the same land.

Win two · the kitchen

Staples that are exactly what they claim: unrefined, unpolished, uncoloured, unpreserved — from a farm you could visit.

हातोहात पैसे · paid on the spot

Not credit. Not next season.

"Fair price" is easy to print on a jar. This is what it looks like at our procurement desk: the grower is paid out as the lot is weighed in, so nobody waits on a mandi cycle or a middleman's terms.
